My participation in PLAY IDENTITY 2026

What is play? Can we use play to open a panel discussion about play? Can a simple 10-minute game transform into laughter, motivation, participation, or the invention of an original story?

My participation in PLAY IDENTITY 2026 was a great honor and a unique experience! The first day began with a panel titled “Play as a Tool for Innovation and Corporate Culture” alongside D. Deligeorgi, P. Theodorakakou, Dr. M. Warren, V. Blesiou, and H. Mainemelis, followed immediately by a workshop inspired by our book with Iris Samartzi, “Για να δούμε”.

In the workshop, I attempted to show that every page of a children’s book can become an opportunity for exploration and spontaneous, hands-on play, that every book is, in that way, a… pop-up book! In the second part, photographer Olga Stefatou magically pulled a pop-up photography workshop straight out of the pages of “Για να δούμε”!

Play Identity is an international meeting that brings together educators, parents, caregivers, mental health professionals, business leaders, and researchers to rediscover play, not as a tool, but as a learning identity. Through group discussions, hands-on workshops, art exhibitions, abundant play, and above all, meaningful connection, we explore what play truly means in our lives and in education.

Youla Blessiou and Paixnidagogeio thank you for the invitation & the unforgettable experience. www.playidentity.gr/en
